Eric the Midget to Star in GoodFellas Movie Remake

Coming to a theater near you: Ray Liotta, Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Eric Lynch (aka Eric the Midget) in a touching remake of the 1990 blockbuster movie Goodfellas.

"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster," says Eric the Midget, who narates the remade film.

Although most people don't know it, the movie Goodfellas was based on the true-life story of the adorable but cranky Eric the Midget, who grew who grew up with dreams of becoming a "big kid gangster", skipping school for months at a time to work for the cab service across the street run by mob boss Paul Cicero (Paul Sorvino). The way of life for a mobster, as seen through young Eric's impressionable eyes, is the ultimate way of life for a midget.

India's Shortest Actor Makes Waves

He's only 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 61 pounds, but south Indian actor Ajay Kumar is already a big star in the land of data entry and Dell customer support. Give it up for the world's latest famous midget celebrity.

In his debut feature, Atbhutha Dweep (translated: Wonder Island), Kumar performs stunts, rides a horse at 45 kph and cavorts with a lover, reports BBC news. The film, with a cast of 360 dwarfs defending their kingdom, has been a box-office hit.  Too bad they couldn't work in a camio appearance by Bridget the Midget.

Now the ambitious little actor is aiming for a break in Hollywood.

"My star value has definitely gone up. I'm improving my English too, especially after a Hollywood director evinced interest in a re-make of Dweep," said the actor, who also set up an association of dwarfs.

The Kerala Small Men Association has 300 members across the state and is demanding what it calls "special recognition" from the government.

The little midgets on the left and right are John and Greg Rice, once the world's shortest living twins. Since the early 1980's the Rice Twins have become international media personalities appearing on countless network TV shows such as ABC's 20/20 and Regis and Kathy Lee Live.

John and Greg were abandoned by their natural parents at the hospital where they were born. They were told that their parents just got up in the middle of the night and left. The babies had already been diagnosed as dwarfs; may have been too much to handle. Later, the twins were adopted by an elementary school janitor and his wife. The parents were very supportive and gave the trwins the encouragement to succeed.

The company organized seminars on creative problem-solving. You probably remember their late-night infomercials.  They were the only midget twins on TV.  John and Greg started these seminars by driving their identical custom-made Porsches into the room.

In all seriousness, John and Greg's story, accomplishments, success, commitment to children's charities and to their community is an inspiration to all short people.  John died in 2005 from an infection.  His brother Greg is still around.

Midgets Attack: Malaysian Police Detain Midget Gang

Malaysian police detained an eight-member gang of small-sized robbers dubbed the "midget gang," who allegedly confessed to committing 14 break-ins over the past three months, The Associated Press reported.

All the gang members, aged between 14 and 23 years, were diminutive, according to the AP, without saying whether they were dwarfs or just small.
